Checks whether a product name is already registered as a domain under the suffixes you choose, using the public registry lookup (RDAP). It says registered, likely free or could not be checked, and never promises that a name is available.
How to use it
Type the name you are considering, without the suffix, and pick the suffixes that matter to you.
- Type the name, for example the one you picked with the product name generator.
- Tick the suffixes you would use, such as .com, .io or .dev.
- Press Check and read the answer for each suffix.
- Before you commit to a name, confirm a "likely free" domain with a registrar, and look up your social handles by hand.
How Reavlo tests this
This tool runs on our server, because a browser cannot call the registries from your page. Nothing about the request is stored or logged: not the name, not the answers.
Source. RDAP, the registration data protocol of the Internet standards (RFC 9083). For each suffix the tool finds the registry in the list published by IANA (RFC 9224), which it reads again on every run, and asks that registry about the exact domain. A registry that knows the domain answers with its record, and the tool reports "registered". A registry that answers "not found" is reported as "likely free". The tool does not scrape any website and does not use a registrar.
What the answers mean. "Likely free" is not a promise. A name can be reserved by the registry, held back, or registered a moment after you checked. Only a registrar can sell you the domain.
Limits. RDAP does not cover every suffix: when IANA lists no service for one, the tool says "no registry lookup available" instead of guessing. Registries limit how many questions they answer, and Reavlo shares one budget between all visitors, so a suffix can come back as "limited" or "could not be reached". Run it again in a minute. Names with accents or other non-Latin letters are not supported yet: use letters, digits and hyphens. Social handles are not checked, because the networks offer no public lookup that we may use.
Questions
Is the name I enter stored?
No. It goes to our server only to ask the registries and is neither stored nor written to a log. Analytics records only that the tool ran, never the name.
Does 'likely free' mean I can register it?
Not always. It means the registry has no record of that domain. The name may still be reserved, restricted or taken by the time you try, so confirm it with a registrar before you build anything on it.
Why can't it check some suffixes?
Some registries do not offer RDAP, and IANA lists none for them. The tool reports those suffixes as not checkable rather than guessing.
Why does it not check social media handles?
The networks do not offer a public way to ask whether a handle is taken, and scraping their pages is not something Reavlo does. Check the handles that matter to you on each network.
