Paste a post, a headline or a store description. Reavlo counts it the way each platform counts and shows where it gets cut, with the source and check date of every limit.

Something looks wrong? Tell us what looks wrong

Counts your text the way each platform counts it and shows whether it fits every limit at once, with the point where it gets cut marked in your text. For anyone writing posts, ads, store listings or email subject lines who wants to know before publishing.

How to use it

Paste or type your text. The counts update as you type, and nothing leaves your browser.

  1. Paste the text you want to publish, or load the example to see how it reads.
  2. Read the headline: it says how many limits your text is over.
  3. Filter by platform and find the field you are writing, such as a headline or a store description.
  4. Where the text is over, the preview marks where it is cut. Shorten the text until the marker disappears.

How Reavlo tests this

The count is plain arithmetic, run in your browser. The limits come from Reavlo's platform limits data, and each one shows the date it was checked against the platform's own documentation.

  1. Characters are counted as people see them: one visible character is one, so an emoji with skin tone, a flag or a letter with an accent is a single character. This follows the Unicode extended grapheme cluster rules.
  2. A limit in bytes counts the UTF-8 size of the text. Letters with accents, Hebrew, Arabic and emoji take more than one byte each.
  3. Where a platform documents that every link counts as a fixed length, as X does, each link in your text counts as that length, whatever its real length.
  4. The cut is the first character that does not fit. It is never placed inside a character. Where a platform shows only the start of a long text, the preview marks that point too.

Limits. Platforms change their limits and sometimes count differently from their documentation. The preview is a schematic approximation, not a copy of any platform's interface, and a platform may rewrite or shorten your text. Limits that Reavlo cannot verify from an official source are not listed, so a missing platform or field is deliberate. Email clients cut subject lines at different lengths; the email limits shown are those of the sending tool.

Questions

Does an emoji count as one character?

Yes, here it does, and it does on most platforms. A family emoji is built from several symbols joined together but shows as one character, and this tool counts it as one. A platform that counts differently is the exception, so leave a small margin for emoji-heavy text.

Why does X count my link as 23 characters?

X replaces every link in a post with its own short link and counts it as a fixed length, whatever the original length. The tool applies the same rule to the X limit, using the length from X's documentation.

What is the difference between a limit and a cut point?

The limit is the most the platform accepts. A cut point is where the platform stops showing the text in a feed and hides the rest behind a "see more". LinkedIn ads work this way: a long intro is accepted, but only the start is visible without a click.

Why is a platform or field I need missing?

A limit is listed only when it is documented in the platform's own help pages. Where no official number exists, such as Google's title links and meta descriptions, any number would be folklore, so the tool does not show one.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The counting runs in your browser and the text is not stored or sent to a server.
