Something looks wrong? Tell us what looks wrong

Makes a share image from a title, an optional subtitle and logo, and your colors, at 1200 by 630 pixels, and lets you download it as a PNG. For anyone who wants a link to look good when it is shared and has no design file to start from.

How to use it

Write the title first. Everything else is optional. The image is drawn in your browser; the logo is never uploaded.

  1. Type the title, and a subtitle if you want one.
  2. Add your logo as a PNG, JPEG or WebP file, or leave it out.
  3. Pick a template and change its colors until the preview reads well.
  4. Check the findings, then download the PNG and use it as the page's og:image.

How Reavlo tests this

The tool works out the layout from your text and colors, then draws it in your browser with the site's own font. The title, the logo and the colors are never sent anywhere.

  1. Size. The image is 1200 by 630 pixels, the size Facebook's sharing documentation recommends for the best display on high resolution screens. The ratio is 1.91:1, the one it asks you to stay close to so the whole image shows without cropping. The date the size was checked is shown with the result.
  2. Layout. Margins are 10% of the shorter side. The title takes the largest size at which it fits in at most four lines; the subtitle has a fixed size and at most two lines. The logo is scaled to fit its box without being stretched. Widths of the text are estimated from the characters, so a line the real font makes slightly wider is squeezed to fit rather than overflowing.
  3. Contrast. The ratio between the text and the background color is calculated with the WCAG 2.x formula. The title is large text and needs 3:1; if the image also has a subtitle or a credit line, the smaller text needs 4.5:1, so the stricter minimum applies.
  4. A title that does not fit at the smallest text size is cut with an ellipsis and flagged.

Limits. The tool does not preview how a platform will crop or overlay the image; use the social image cropper or the social post preview for that. Platforms may re-compress the image, and some crop link images to other shapes. The templates are neutral: no Reavlo mark and no watermark is added. The credit line is off unless you turn it on and write one.

Questions

Is my logo uploaded?

No. The logo is read and drawn in your browser, and neither it nor your text is sent to a server or stored. If Google Analytics is enabled on this site, it only records that the tool ran, never what you wrote.

Why 1200 by 630 pixels?

Facebook's documentation recommends images of at least 1200 by 630 pixels for the best display on high resolution devices, with a ratio close to 1.91:1. Many other places that show link previews use the same shape.

Which fonts does the image use?

The font this site already serves. No font is loaded from another site, so the image can look different from one made in a design tool.

Does the image carry a Reavlo watermark?

No. The image has no mark of ours. You can add a credit line of your own, and it is off by default.
